Biography


Manju's creative efforts are rooted in a firm belief that by investing in the first 1,825 days (5 years) of child’s early development, one can shape a better trajectory for optimal success for the first decade and beyond. With an academic and research training in Neurosciences, Manju in her non profit work addresses learning and health inequities in children of low income communities. Using an upstream approach, Manju is working on policy solutions related to early education and wellness.
In 2020, Manju was one of 24 LIWP Fellows (Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology of APA) nationally selected to explore paths to effective leadership and women’s role in promoting positive changes in institutional and organizational settings. Manju did clinical and research work in neuropsychiatric disorders and cognitive disorders across life span. She received an M.Phil. from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore, India, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee., USA. After a two-year fellowship in the department of Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University, she worked as a research scientist at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and next as the assistant director of the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury program (DVBIC) at the Walter Reed Army hospital, Washington, D.C. Innumerable Zen moments from volunteering since school days to traveling and interacting with rural communities for more than two decades continually inspire and restore her faith in Utopian possibilities.

Parina (She/Her) is a finance professional, with over 10 years of experience in public and private industry sectors. She holds a CPA licensure and her work has spanned across a variety of organizations, including early stage startups to publicly traded corporations.

Julia Heringer 

Donor Relations Officer

Biography


Júlia (she/her) is a dedicated Donor Relations Officer and an International Relations and Development professional from Brazil, who is passionate about human rights and gender equality. Her professional experiences inserted her in highly multicultural and international environments, as well as her academic journey. She has worked at the Walt Disney Company (Florida, USA), at the British Consulate-General in Rio de Janeiro, and at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games – but her true passion relies on her activism and her belief in human rights. That has led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Globalization and Development Studies. Thanks to a competitive scholarship granted by Maastricht University and the Dutch government, she could travel to the Netherlands and specialize in studies of inequality, poverty eradication, transnational migration, and international development. Júlia speaks English and Portuguese, her native language, and holds a B.A. in International Relations from “Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro”, the biggest university in Brazil. She is also a traveler by heart: she has been to over 20 countries, and dreams of visiting many more.

Sofia Valle

Biography


Sofia (she/her) is graduated in International Relations from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Passionate about the political world, and listening to stories and discovering the most diverse realities. Driven by the desire to find solutions and innovations in politics, which positively impact Society, and a technological enthusiast. In 2019, she won a full scholarship to participate in the World Youth Forum in Egypt, an international discussion forum with the participation of young people from all over the world, political leaders from Europe, Africa and Asia and people who develop innovative projects, such as technology startups and sustainable companies. In 2020, Sofia was selected as an IGF Youth Ambassador, representing the Internet Society at the UN Internet Governance Forum. In 2021, Sofia was selected to be one of the 15 young people in the Americas to join the ITU Generation Connect - Americas Youth Group (GC-AMS) at the UN Telecommunications agency, helping to draft a document, presenting their views on the challenges and opportunities related to digital development in the Americas, contributing to the preparatory process for the World Conference on Telecommunications Development (WTDC-21), in particular the Regional Preparatory Meeting (RPM) for the Americas. Sofia has also interned in the Political Communication area in the campaign of a candidate for councilor in Rio de Janeiro.

Kent (He/Him) is an IT Project Manager Consultant with 4 years of Project Management experience specializing in software development and workflow planning. He attended the University of Cincinnati and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. Kent is currently attending the Youngstown State University in pursuit of an MBA specializing in Leadership. Kent focuses on utilizing software and technology to help unify and progress companies who are looking to make strides and advance their reach.

Danyelle (She/Her), is a passionate and dedicated Human Resources professional, with over 10 years of experience in a variety of organizations. One of the projects she is most proud of is her participation in the development of a Women's Professional Forum that occurs annually at the leadership summit for her organization. She holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Communication from the University of Arizona.



Darya

Biography


Darya Salih (She/Her) is a Human Resources Officer who specializes in scheduling, document writing, hiring, developing, and looking after employees. This involves managing trainings, monitoring performance, and ensuring the equality and diversity of the workplace.
She has two years of volunteer experience: One year as an active member and one year as a chairperson of pharmacy education in Kurdistan Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (KPSA). She has managed projects and campaigns focused on the pharmacy education, Medical Education, Sexual and reproductive health and rights. She is also worked and presented some scientific festivals.
She has conducted over many certified training sessions on topics related to leadership, mental health, physiological and anatomical, medical and pharmaceutical studies, also she is participated in some international competitions like Case-Based Learning and worked with a team to analyse a case and became the winner of the competition.
She has also worked as a researcher in different medical researches and she is still working, and one of her researches is published in an international journal it is about the prevalence of Scabies in Kurdistan.
Darya now is studying in a accredited pharmacy college.
